Yoshie Oki
Grounded in traditional bamboo weaving techniques, the artist creates sculptural works that extend beyond functional craft into expressive three-dimensional forms.
Each work visualizes the vitality and natural rhythm of bamboo, revealing the material's quiet energy through refined craftsmanship and contemporary expression.
History
Began studying bamboo art under Kokansai Iizuka in 1999.
Recipient of the Encouragement Award at the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition.
The artist's works are held in museum collections in Japan and abroad, including the National Gallery of Victoria in Australia.
Currently a Full Member of the Japan Kōgei Association.
