Glass Artist

Shunji Sasaki

Through softly textured forms and subtle irregularities, Shunji Sasaki creates vessels that evoke a quiet sense of time.

His practice thoughtfully explores the relationship between using an object and experiencing it, revealing the emotional presence that emerges through everyday encounters.

History

Born in Iwate, Japan, in 1987.

Graduated from Akita Municipal College of Arts and Crafts in 2007.

Joined the Toyama Glass Art Center in 2009.

Served as an Assistant in the Academic Affairs Department at the Toyama Institute of Glass Art from 2016.

Established S glass studio in Toyama in 2019.

Has presented numerous solo and group exhibitions in Japan and internationally.
