Nelly Saunier
One of France's leading plumassiers (feather artists), dedicated to preserving and reimagining the centuries-old tradition of feather craftsmanship.
Introduced to the art of featherwork at the age of fourteen, she studied both the craft and applied arts at Lycée Octave Feuillet and École Olivier de Serres. For more than thirty years, she has created distinctive works that celebrate the beauty of nature and living forms while carrying forward the techniques of traditional feather artistry.
History
Named Maître d'Art (Master of Art) by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication in 2008.
Awarded the rank of Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of Arts and Letters) in 2012.
Has collaborated extensively with internationally renowned luxury houses including Chopard, Van Cleef & Arpels, Chanel, Gucci, Givenchy, and Jean Paul Gaultier.
Today, she continues her creative practice in her own atelier while dedicating herself to passing on the traditions and techniques of feather craftsmanship to the next generation.
