Urushi Lacquerware Artist

Working with the traditional kinma lacquer technique, the artist transforms fragments of memory and the subtle changes of everyday life into richly layered works.

Through the repeated process of applying layers of lacquer, carving intricate patterns, and adding color, each piece records the artist's state of mind, surroundings, and sensory experiences at a particular moment. While the physical form remains fixed, the work is intended to continue evolving through the perceptions of its viewers.

After a career in the pharmaceutical industry, the artist began pursuing lacquer art at the age of twenty-nine.
