Through the traditional technique of raden (mother-of-pearl inlay), the artist expresses the forms and radiance found in nature and living things.

Using the luminous inner surface of shell as a primary material, delicately rendered motifs of plants and animals reveal subtle traces of life and layered impressions of time within richly ornamented surfaces.

Having developed a deep affinity with nature from an early age, the artist draws upon these experiences to reinterpret and carry forward the traditions of Japanese lacquer art in a contemporary context.
