Drawing from the tradition of Iga ware, the artist embraces the transformative nature of clay and the unpredictability of the firing process.
By allowing material and flame to shape each work, the artist explores the essence of ceramics that exists between control and spontaneity, creating vessels that celebrate both intention and chance.
History
Born in Toyama, Japan, in 1968.
Graduated from Osaka University of Arts, then apprenticed under ceramic artist Yasuto Imai.
Recipient of the Gold Prize at the Taiwan International Tea Ware Competition.
Has presented numerous solo and group exhibitions in Japan and internationally.
