Textile Dyeing Artist
Anzu Fua
Through the expressive processes of dyeing, the artist captures subtle gradations, blurring, and organic fluctuations, layering traces of memory and sensation onto cloth.
Drawing from a painterly perspective, the work explores layered color and ambiguous boundaries, giving visual form to emotions and the quiet passage of time that cannot be easily defined.
History
Born in Ishikawa, Japan, in 1988.
Graduated from Kyoto Seika University, Faculty of Arts, in 2011, and completed a master's degree there in 2013.
Completed the residency program at the Kanazawa Utatsuyama Kogei Kobo (Kanazawa Utatsuyama Craft Workshop) in 2021.
Recipient of multiple awards at exhibitions including the Kanazawa Craft Exhibition and the Contemporary Art Exhibition.
Currently serves as a Part-time Lecturer at the Indigo Dyeing Studio and Textile Studio of Kanazawa Yuwaku Creative Forest.
